Feather Nail Decals

I am trying so very hard to keep the blog up to date but as some of you may know I also crochet things for people and at the mo I have loads to do so my little blog has suffered slightly. Normal service will resume soon!

Anyway.....
I have a very simple nail art to show you today. AND I used the mysterious fan brush.... The fan brush usually comes in most nail art brush kits and I have seen a few people ask what to do with it, so here is just one thing you can do!

I used +Barry M  Gelly polish called Key Lime and China Glazes  Flying High. I then added some feather water decals from Sparkly Nails.
I then topped it all off with Mentality Matte top coat! I love Matte top coat and I just want to matte all the things!
Ive said it once and I'll say it again... If you don't like hand painting nail art then water decals are the option for you. They are easy to use and don't stick up like stickers. plus they can be cut and edited to fit any design you might want to do.

The fan brush is part of a set of brushes from Effect Beauty. For 10% off  use code LACQUER.

What do you think of this look?

Peacock Pretties

Hello my dears!

Today has been a bit of a crap day, I have a cough that just wont go away :(
How are you? Did you have a good weekend?
I literally just crocheted all weekend! Oh and I picked up a couple lovely OPIs in TK Maxx.

Anyway.........

Recently Ali from Sparkly Nails emailed me and asked if i would like to take some pictures of different manis using her products for her website.
Of course I agreed!

Here is just one of many designs I have been working on.

When I saw these Feather Decals the first thing I thought of was a peacock.

I used a thin brush to layer 4 colours over each other on the feature nails.

To be honest it may have looked better with more purples and darker blues but I don't use greens very often.

The water decals are so easy to use and i think they look soo good! Have you ever tried water decals before?

What do you think of this mani?

Royal Bow

I have been so ill this week I haven't had chance to do anything! So here is my first nail art, a red, white and blue mani with a bow.
This really reminds me of a English Royal celebration with the colours and confetti type topcoat.

Unfortunately the blue i used for the bow smudged a bit when i added the Poshe topcoat.

I used;
Base colour: OPI's Red Lights Ahead,Where?
Confetti: InVougue feather Effect in Jaye Bird
Bow: Barry M's Gelly Nail Paint in Blackberry, Barry M Nail Art Pens in Black and White.

I absolutely love this design, and I really like the InVogue Feather Effect on top of the red. It really reminds me of England!
The OPI looks orange in this light and it is really more of a bright red, but for some reason i couldnt really capture this on my camera.

You can purchase the whole InVogue range in Superdrug and HERE
Here the colour of the OPI is a lot more accurate.

Jaye Bird By InVogue

I received this lovely polish from Nick at ohbeauty.co.uk.
This is Jaye Bird from Invogue Feathers.
It features strands of blue and white glitter. The polish has a high density of glitter so its easy to position and get a full coverage. I did use four coats though, just to get the placement right.
It can be used on it own or over another polish.
I wouldn't have called it feather effect, i would have called it Sprinkles! As to me it looks like cake sprinkles!
Pictured here alone with one coat of Poshe topcoat.

This polish is really pretty and completely different to the other polishes I have seen, as a lot of glitter polishes don't have this type of coverage.

This polish, along with the whole InVogue range, is available HERE for £4.49 with FREE UK postage :)

Reminds me of streamer or sprinkles on cakes. It also reminds me of the Queens Jubilee?! Very royal colours!
