Yume Lacquer Let's Positive Thinking Swatch and Review

FINALLY I have finished all my crochet orders so I am now on full speed ahead catching up on the old blogging!!

Today I have, what I can only describe as, a grown up polish! This polish makes me feel so grown up and elegant.
Plus I love the way it looks on my nails.
I think it really suits me :)

Without further ado this is Let's Positive Thinking by Yume lacquer.

Bottle shot ^^

Its a chestnutty yummy warm brown with a purply pink micro glitter. Look at how grown up and elegant it makes me lol!
The formula is great, two coats shown here with topcoat.
The glitter isnt grainy or anything so thats great too.

I love this. REALLY love it! If I had to go and be taken seriously somewhere this would be the polish I would wear.

What do you all think??

Yume Lacquer is available through ETSY and go and show some love on her FACEBOOK and say I sent ya :P

Yume Lacquer Flame Warrior

That's right I'm back from the dead!

Well not literally but that's the way it bloody felt!
For the second time this year I have been struck down by flu!

I hate flu. I mean who doesn't?
The only goo thing abut flu is that i am now 8lb lighter and closer to my weight loss goal! RESULT!

Yume Lacquer sent me some lovely polishes to review and they have been sat on the top of my Helmer for what seems like forever so tonight I bring you

FLAME WARRIOR

All the polishes from Yume Lacquer are based on game or comic characters. This one is based on Sailor Mars from Sailor Moon.

This one is a strange one. I expected to be red red but its like a darker plum red.

It features a purple micro glitter which catches the light and is noticeable.
It actually dries matte so I used one coat of topcoat for the pics here. I think one more coat of topcoat would have made this even nicer.
The application of this is great, 2 standard coats in these pics.

I think this is one of those polishes that you wouldn't be able to get on the high street and I love that not all indie look alike, although some are starting too...

So what do you think of this Yume Lacquer? I have 4 more to show you soon......

Please check out their ETSY store and FACEBOOK Page and show some Life in Lacquer love <3

*This is a press sample. I was sent this product for an honest review. for more details please see my disclosure page*

Polish Me Silly Grape Intentions Thermal Polish

Hello my dears!
I have had a nice relaxing week spending some time with my family as my husband is not at work!

I have a bloody fantastic polish for you today! ITS A THERMAL!!!

I have previously tried thermals before but the colour change was underwhelming to say the least. This polish you can for sure see the change!
My family loved this polish, they thought it was like witchcraft or something. None of them have ever even heard of thermals before.
Noobs.

This is Grape Intentions by Polish Me Silly.

COLD

BOTTLE CLOSE UP

TRANSITION

TRANSITION

WARM

Its purple when cold and pink when warm. Because I have longish nails I often see a gradient which looks so good. Its also packed with glitter but I found the larger hexes a bit of a pain so had to manually move some of them.

I used three thin coats to get the finish in the pictures, it is a jelly polish. What would happen if you layered it over a different base colour?!!??

I really love this. I'm hooked on thermals and I do have another to show you soon!

What do you think?

Polish Me Silly Toe-Tally Cosmic Swatch and Review

Today I have a stunning multichrome to show you!
Toe-tally Cosmic is what I would call a green base multichrome as its green I see the most. It flashes with purples, reds and golds.

I just couldn't resist pairing this with some space stamping and hand painted star. I then added a diamante to top it off.

This is two coats of Toe-Tally Cosmic over Sinful Colors Black on Black. Topped of with Glossy Glam top coat.

The green in this polish is, well, AMAZEBALLS!! Is such a deep rich colour.
I really love it.
Even without the shift it would be a really nice polish.

This can also be worn alone without the black undies but the shift isnt as strong.
Again, I like the idea of layering over different colours.

The formula is really nice and goes on sooo smooth! To be fair it would have been opaque in one thicker coat, I just wanted to make sure it was 100% opaque.

You can buy this and other Polish Me Silly polishes directly HERE

So what do you think? Are you a fan of multichromes?
They seem to be all the fashion now!

MDJ Creations Raspberry-Licious Glow in the Dark!!

Ohhh My......

I am a lucky lady for sure! MDJ Creations sent me a few polishes to swatch and here's the first.
MDJ Creations make handmade 3 free nail polish, essential oil balms and jewelry.

Raspberry-Licious is part of the Rooty Tooty Fresh and Fruity collection and is a glow in the dark polish.
This is my first glow in the dark polish and taking the pictures were a learning curve indeed!!

This is a juicy pink jelly packed with loads of different shapes and sizes of glitter.
It applied well and these pics here are three thin coats and one coat of top coat which makes it smooth.

I stamped using Konad black and CH-16 from Cheeky.

Okay so here is the fun part.... the glow in the dark!!

This polish glows GREEN but for some reason they show up blue on my camera. But I assure they glow GREEN :)
I charged it under my UV lamp to take these pics but Melissa from MDJ says it will glow after a few minutes under direct light, such as a desk lamp.

I was so impressed with the glow on these. So much fun!

Have you ever used a glow in the dark polish?

MDJ Creations sells through Etsy and you can also contact them on Facebook.

I will have some more swatches coming soon so please keep ya eyes peeled (that saying is gross!)

Sorbet Seams For Lovers in a Rush

Today we have another swatch from the very fashionable Sorbet Seams.
Sorbet Seams is an indie brand based in Belgium and run by Sally Meyvis.

As you may remember I swatched Coffee and Flowers a couple days ago, you can see it HERE

This is For Lovers in a Rush.
It has a mixture of glitter in ice blue, silver and gold holo.

I chose to layer this topper over Lychee by BarryM.
I thought this looked elegant but with a flash of fun and glam.
I like how it catches the light.

I chose to do a glitter fade today, with a feature ring finger, mixing it up!
The ring finger has two coats so you can see the sort of coverage.
It has a fantastic coverage and it really isn't thick to apply.
I used 1 coat of Seche Vite and that left the nails smooth.

I love this topper and have really really love the bottles they come in!
SOOOO trendy!

To buy this and other Sorbet Seams polishes please head on over to their ETSY store.

Sick Lacquers Nail Mail!

OoOoOo new pretties!

I was blown away by the last polishes from Sick Lacquers, the colours and the application were top notch. I loved them so much i could resist putting in an order!

Here I have 9 new polishes from the indie maker. These can be purchased HERE

Butterflies & Roses, Mysterious Ways and Grape Juice.

Butterfly Effect, Pastel Fusion and Cotton Candied

Scatterbrains, I Pink I Blue Up and Lavender Lover.

WOW! I was so happy unwrapping these. As you can tell I am really into the whole white base with glitter thing at the mo!
I have tried a few out and love them all but I think my faves so far is Butterflies & Roses and I Pink I Blue Up.
Butterfly Effect is so glittery in real life and I cant wait to get that on!

So which one do you like the best?

Sick Lacquers Swatches Part 2

As promised here is part two of the indie polishes from Sick Lacquers

Sick Lacquers are a Mother and Son team from the USA. They have a store on Etsy and stock a wide range of their own polishes, from glitters to textured polishes.

The first one up is Blossom. A bright pink and white glitter in strands, squares, hexes, hearts and stars.

Here it is with 3 coats, no topcoat.

The formula wasn't too thick on this one, just how i like it :) you get a good coverage of glitter without having to place the glitter yourself.
I like the jelly feel it has to it and the depth of glitter because of the layering.

Next up is Bubbles. This has navy, light blue and white glitter in various hexes, squares, hearts, micro and star shapes. You'll be glitter spoilt!
Two coats over China Glaze Electric Beat.
And this is 2 thick coats with no base.

As you can see this is in an almost clear base, unlike Blossom so I personally think it looks better over a base colour.
I love blue and this lovely polish is no exception.
formula great, easy to apply glitter with no extra dragging around.

Last up is Circle Of Light, now this one was an absolute pain to photograph. It has these beautiful holographic circles and squares, that just do not behave when it comes to being photographed. The nightmare that is holographic lol!

Here it is with 3 coats over no base.

the formula on this polish, for me, was too thick. I prefer my polishes to have a thin/meduim thickness. This polish completely jam packed with glitter though. It has like tiny shimmery glitter in which make up this base. I dont even know how to descrivbe it, all I know is that its as glittery as a 70's disco ball!
I love the circles and in real life they really do catch the light and look amazing!

So thats part two!
I have been so happy and blown away with these polishes that i have actually put in an order for another 9! Keep your eyes peeled as there will be loads more coming!

Dont forget to check out their Facebook, Instagram and Etsy!

Sick Lacquers Swatches and Review Part 1

I am a very lucky lady!
Today I have some swatches of three indie polishes by Sick Lacquers
I do have more from Sick Lacquers to show you but I'm teasing you all by breaking it down :P

Sick Lacquers are available to buy on Etsy and are handmade by Peggie and her son.
You can purchase them HERE and they do ship to the UK.

Without further ado.....
This First one is Berrys and Cream
2 Coats + Seche Vite topcoat
All i can say really is wow! Your going to get a lot of that on this post HaHa! This features different size purple glitter suspended in a creamy white base. The more you layer it on the deeper the effect gets. I love that you can see all the glitter from the previous coat just peeking out. If you look at the (crap) Macro shot you will see the different shapes of glitter this polish has to offer.
The formula is fab and the glitter lies pretty well flat without topcoat.

Next up is Buttercup. This is 3 coats with topcoat.
Your going to need to wear shades for this cheeky neon-esque shade. Not too bright its offensive but eye catching enough to get you noticed!
This features micro, slices, hexes and even cute star shaped glitter. You could either wear this alone or over another polish depending on your mood, and if worn over another polish it would turn down the brightness.
The larger hexes don't lay as flat but that's expected really with larger glitters. In the macro shot it looks way worse than it looked to the "naked eye"

Taste the Rainbow. 2 coats with Seche Vite.
WOW, I wanted this to stay on my nails for forever and a day.
This polish is another glitter suspended in a creamy base. This literally has all the colours in the rainbow, well all the good ones! Formula was great as with all the others.
I cant really say any more about this polish, but you haven't got something like this, then its a no brainer.

What do you think of these super beautiful indies?
Please also take a look at their FACEBOOK and INSTAGRAM and show some love!

TarasTalons Announcement Plus Swatches and Reviews!!

Hello Lacquer-roonies!

I am very lucky to be reviewing two new polishes today and announcing a new product in Taras shop!

Okay so as you all may know I am a big fan of TarasTalons polishes and also of Tara herself! She is a UK indie polish maker and I have done posts on Tara and her fab polishes before. Find them

As of TODAY TarasTalons will be offering 5ml bottles in her Etsy shop!!
She also now sells "Lucky Bags" and "Pick N Mix" (better than sweets!!)
Lucky Bags are four random polishes and cost £14.40 for 10ml and £10.00 for 5ml!
That works out at £3.20 a polish for 10ml!! Bargain!!

Pick n Mix are four polishes of your choice for £20.00 for 10ml bottles and £13.60 for 5ml.
Both of these bags offer huge savings on the normal selling price of a single bottle.
With these bags it makes it even easier to now own your own handmade polishes at bargain prices! Or you could even gift them to a loved one (or yourself LOL)

AND DON'T FORGET TO USE MY EXCLUSIVE 20% OFF CODE
LIFEINLACQUER20
(No minimum spend)

To Promote this launch Tara has sent me 2 lovely one off polishes for review, they are both in the new 5ml size.

Heres a bottle shot...

First up we have Life in Polish...

The only way i can describe this polish is a dusky pinky purple jelly effect! Here it is with 3 thin coats and topcoat.
The glitter gets beautifully sandwiched between the layers of colour.
Holo glitter with Silvery pink hexs.... YUM!

The other polish is called I'm Jades Polish.
love that it's named after me :P

So the first thing I noticed was how thick this polish was. When you apply it you only need one coat and it is a bit tricky to apply.
I thought it was going to turn out to be a textured polish but when it dried it dried flatter. I then floated 2 coats of top coat and oh wow!
The depth of colour and glitter is amazing. Its hard to tell in the pic but it has lovely purple glitter in it too.
Because of the thickness, caused by the high content of glitter, the cuticles and side walls are not as neat as usual.
But the depth of colour and the way it shines (i cant stop looking at it) makes up for the thickness IMO.
**One little hint for very dense polishes,  apply one layer of topcoat and then wait until nearly dry, then lightly press your finger on the polish to help it lay flat. You will be left with finger prints but don't worry as one more coat of topcoat should sort this**

All of TarasTalons polishes are one of a kinds (except the first collection)

Taras polishes are in high demand so get them while you can!!
You can buy all her polishes HERE

Also please do check out her BLOG as it contains loads of pretty nail arts :)

and as Tara would say

GET NAILED :P
