New Years Nails! Only 11 Days Late!!

I apologise!

my laptop died AGAIN! so was off being repaired.
I do often wonder if people notice I have gone lol I'm sure some of you do :D

So here are the nails I wore on New Years Eve.

I wore these for a very uneventful night in!
As you know I have 2 young boys so I don't get out much at all now a days.

This is Storm by Zoya.
It is superbly superb!
It has holo glitter scattered in a black base.
2 coats in the ^above^ pic

I used a Moyou plate from the Festive collection for the gold streamers. I wanted to use the designs with "Happy New Year" and a clock on but they are just so bloody huge. I couldn't get them to fit on my nails at all. Its annoying when you buy a plate and can only use like 1 design :(

I'm not quite sure what possessed me to put a blue bow on this Hahahah. I don't like it at all now I'm looking back at it.

I hope you had a fab new years and 2014 is treating you well so far!

Rose Nail Art Take 2!

After yesterdays annoyance I decided to give roses another go.

I tried to use the water decals again over a lighter colour but you still couldn't see the decals colour.

So I thought bugger this Ill give hand painting them a go (again)
It has been a while since I have done any hand painting but I don't think they have turned out that bad.

I used Sick Lacquers Cotton Candied and BarryM Gelly polish in Blueberry. I also decided to go matt today for a change and I LOVE IT!!

I watched a few vids by Chelsea King a while back and I took inspiration from THIS video :D
It also reminds me of like shabby chic Cath Kidston style and the Sick Lacquers polish really fits in with this design IMO.

Photos are rubbish again! I feel like I have really fallen out of flow with my nails and this blog and hope to start a fresh in the new year with better photos. I know I am not a photographer but I want you guys to see my nails in the best way possible.

So what do you think of these?

My Final Christmas Nail Art!

Here is my final Christmas nail art for 2013!

I am hoping to wear this for Christmas day so I really bloody hope they don't chip.

Here are the last cheesy Christmas tree photos... Enjoy!

I couldn't do a mani without the use of some texture could I?! Here's Zoya PixieDust in Chyna. I also used OPI Affair in Red Square. This is such and Christmas colour, it has this lush shimmer type metallic sheen.

As you can see the stamping smudged a tad but when you look at it in real life you cant see it at all and I mean AT ALL. Its kind of annoying!

The stamping plates are all from the festive collection by MoYou London.
I used the decal method for the Hollie. You can find a tutorial HERE

Did you know I have written 180 posts this year? My first year of blogging!

MERRY CHRISTMAS YOU LOVELY PEOPLE!

Mountain Nail art

Hello my lovelies!
The wether has been so bleugh here!
yesterday we had our father in law round and he is an artist so as you can imagine we were sat talking and painting for a while lol!

So this is what we came up with.....

Marcus *father in law* gave me some tips and painted some things for me to copy.
I actually found this okay to do, not too hard!

Okay so we have mountains, birds, a kite and a hot air balloon.

I used Essie's Butler Please and Avenue Maintain and a little BarryM at the bottom of the gradient.

The rest is acrylic paints.

So what do you think? I think the gradient could have been better but its all good practice!

Incoco update 1 week on....

I have had Incoco on for a week now.
The great news is they are still on!

As you can see they have got tip wear and growth at the cuticle (obviously :P)
I have not gone easy on these. I have had long baths, changed nappies and done the cleaning. All at the same time, LOL!
I am very surprised that they are still on. Nail polish rarely lasts on me, unless its that pesky glitter!

Yes there is some wear etc but you would expect that from a regular polish.
so all in all I love these.
The application is fairly simple and I can see it getting better the more you do it. For me, they lasted fantastically. I'm really chuffed.

You can purchase these and LOADS of other designs HERE

What do you think?
Would you wear these?

Confetti Zigzag

I am a massive fan of L'Oreal's Confetti topcoat. I saw it sat on my shelf looking all lonely so I just had to crack it open! One of the things I like most about the Confetti the micro glitter partials, if you squint you may see it! But seriously, in real life, you can see it and I really think it adds too the whole effect.

To do this I used my ole faithful! Neo Whimsical by Essie. I use this polish more than I use any other (maybe on par with BarryM's Matt White)
I find it a great base for doing art and I am a big fan of a nude, oh behave!

I then used some of those fancy scissors to cut this shape out of masking tape. I am "borrowing" these off my Nan and she has lent me about 15 pairs of different shaped ones! She uses them for card making but they work really well for this.

The darker pink is Essie's Cascade Cool. I did try and do the Confetti in a zigzag and it did work, of a fashion, but I wanted to accentuate it so outlined in acrylic paint. The line is not exactly straight so that's a bummer but I am still happy with it.

Its been a while since I have done anything like this and I think I will be doing it more often, its really pretty :)

A design like this works in any colourway but just bare in mind to go from light to dark :)

I hope you like this everyone and please leave me a lil comment below, I love getting comments, its like the excitement I get when I am waiting for the postman!

Dotty Daisies

I am in LOVE with dots at the mo. Ever since I got my Pro Plate 10 from Moyou, every mani has dots on LOL! In fact i am just about to put them on my feet!

The photo of this sucks... I ended up having to take a pic of this at night and I just couldn't get a great shot but I just have to put it up now, I cant wait!

As you can probably see that I only went and bloody knocked the middle bubble charm! Some night nothing works for me at all!

This is Aquadelic by China Glaze and Konad in White.
Aquadelic is a stunning greeny blue type bright pastel. One of my new fave polishes. I am holding on to the summer by using bright colours for every mani but to be honest I love getting to use my darker colours.

I love the fact that this polish matches the bubble charms EXACTLY!
Like I have said I love this mani, would be perfect for spring!

I have used Bubble charms before (HERE) and they are super easy to use. Just dont move them around too much after they are placed otherwise you run the risk of effecting the image.

You can buy these Bubble charms from Sparkly Nails

Sick Lacquers Swatches Part 2

As promised here is part two of the indie polishes from Sick Lacquers

Sick Lacquers are a Mother and Son team from the USA. They have a store on Etsy and stock a wide range of their own polishes, from glitters to textured polishes.

The first one up is Blossom. A bright pink and white glitter in strands, squares, hexes, hearts and stars.

Here it is with 3 coats, no topcoat.

The formula wasn't too thick on this one, just how i like it :) you get a good coverage of glitter without having to place the glitter yourself.
I like the jelly feel it has to it and the depth of glitter because of the layering.

Next up is Bubbles. This has navy, light blue and white glitter in various hexes, squares, hearts, micro and star shapes. You'll be glitter spoilt!
Two coats over China Glaze Electric Beat.
And this is 2 thick coats with no base.

As you can see this is in an almost clear base, unlike Blossom so I personally think it looks better over a base colour.
I love blue and this lovely polish is no exception.
formula great, easy to apply glitter with no extra dragging around.

Last up is Circle Of Light, now this one was an absolute pain to photograph. It has these beautiful holographic circles and squares, that just do not behave when it comes to being photographed. The nightmare that is holographic lol!

Here it is with 3 coats over no base.

the formula on this polish, for me, was too thick. I prefer my polishes to have a thin/meduim thickness. This polish completely jam packed with glitter though. It has like tiny shimmery glitter in which make up this base. I dont even know how to descrivbe it, all I know is that its as glittery as a 70's disco ball!
I love the circles and in real life they really do catch the light and look amazing!

So thats part two!
I have been so happy and blown away with these polishes that i have actually put in an order for another 9! Keep your eyes peeled as there will be loads more coming!

Dont forget to check out their Facebook, Instagram and Etsy!

Aztec Style Nail Stamping

Hello lovelys!

I hope you all enjoyed the previous post from Penguins Left Green Polish. I sure did! Make sure to pop on over to her Blog as today is her birthday!!

Today I have some basic stamping from a Cheeky Jumbo Plate called Viva Mexico. As you may recall I had some problems with a Cheeky delivery (you can read that post HERE) That has since been resolved somewhat and a partial refund was given.

For this I have used a fan brush to brush Color Clubs Put a Pin In It over China Glazes Foie Gras.
Simples!
I love browns but I don't get to use them as much as I would like as i find it hard to think of ways to jazz it up!

I used Konad in white to do the stamping.

so what do you think?

Sick Lacquers Purple Haze Launch!

Oh boy do I have a treat for you!

Purple Haze is a brand new holographic polish from Sick Lacquers.
The mother and son team have come up with this beauty, which will launch TODAY!!

I have previously written a post on some lovely glitters by Sick Lacquers which you can find HERE

It is hard to capture the true beauty of a holo but I have tried my hardest :)
Most of these pictures are in direct sunlight to bring out the true holo.

So here it is. Two coats with Seche Vite topcoat.

This macro shot has come out a little "noisy" but you can really see the sheer amount of holo particles WOW!!

Heres a photo of the polish in the bottle

This purple is a light grape colour, jammed packed with holo glittery goodness!

so what do you all think of this new indie polish?

Sick Lacquers are based in the USA but they do ship to the UK and Europe.

To see this and a lot of other beautiful polishes please check out their  SHOP

Hot Air Balloon Nail Art

I used the decal method for these hot air balloons.

If you are not aware of the decal method there is a good video by Nailstampfanatic, explaining the process which you can find

I used acrylic paint to do the clouds and added shadows in a slightly grey colour. Oooh get me being all artsy LOL!

Products Used
China Glaze Electric Beat
Acrylic Paint
Konad Black
Cheeky European Romance Jumbo Plate.
Seche Vite

I really like this mani, simple but pretty.
This type of decal method is also really easy to do once you get the hang of it.

Neon Graffiti Nails

Capturing neon's have got to be one of the hardest things in the world, okay its not brain surgery, but its up there. This is no where near how bright it is in real life. I mean I could halt a plane with these nails :P

Here is my take on a graffiti style stamping.
Its nowhere near as crisp or lovely as I would want and the clean up was a pain in the proverbial's BUT its so bright I just love it!

I first used a white base, if you do not use a white base the neon's will be streaky.

Products Used
Orly Glowstick
China Glaze Kiwi Cool-Ada
BarryM White
Konad Black.
Cheeky Musical Nails Jumbo Plate
Seche Vite Top coat

To do the gradient I first did a base of BarryM white, then applied two coats of GlowStick.
I used a makeup sponge to then blend in the green.

So what do you think of neon nail polish? Love it or hate it?

Sick Lacquers Swatches and Review Part 1

I am a very lucky lady!
Today I have some swatches of three indie polishes by Sick Lacquers
I do have more from Sick Lacquers to show you but I'm teasing you all by breaking it down :P

Sick Lacquers are available to buy on Etsy and are handmade by Peggie and her son.
You can purchase them HERE and they do ship to the UK.

Without further ado.....
This First one is Berrys and Cream
2 Coats + Seche Vite topcoat
All i can say really is wow! Your going to get a lot of that on this post HaHa! This features different size purple glitter suspended in a creamy white base. The more you layer it on the deeper the effect gets. I love that you can see all the glitter from the previous coat just peeking out. If you look at the (crap) Macro shot you will see the different shapes of glitter this polish has to offer.
The formula is fab and the glitter lies pretty well flat without topcoat.

Next up is Buttercup. This is 3 coats with topcoat.
Your going to need to wear shades for this cheeky neon-esque shade. Not too bright its offensive but eye catching enough to get you noticed!
This features micro, slices, hexes and even cute star shaped glitter. You could either wear this alone or over another polish depending on your mood, and if worn over another polish it would turn down the brightness.
The larger hexes don't lay as flat but that's expected really with larger glitters. In the macro shot it looks way worse than it looked to the "naked eye"

Taste the Rainbow. 2 coats with Seche Vite.
WOW, I wanted this to stay on my nails for forever and a day.
This polish is another glitter suspended in a creamy base. This literally has all the colours in the rainbow, well all the good ones! Formula was great as with all the others.
I cant really say any more about this polish, but you haven't got something like this, then its a no brainer.

What do you think of these super beautiful indies?
Please also take a look at their FACEBOOK and INSTAGRAM and show some love!

Pastel Textured Mani With Pearls

Today has been really nice weather so here's a lovely pastel mani to bring out your tan!
I was really not sure about textured polish but I actually really like this!
These are Station Road, Ridley Road and Kingsland Road by BarryM.
I have blogged about another textured polish by InVogue, which you can find HERE

This polish isnt textured enough that it annoys me, but textured enough to feel and see it.
The yellow (Station Road) has glitter in it but I coulent really notice it that much,

The pearls are from Sparkly Nails. They come in packs of 45 and sell for £1.50.
You can buy the pearls, along wuth a massive range of nail art products HERE

They are really easy to use. Just use a damp orange wood stick to pick them up and place onto damp topcoat. Sometimes I place them onto nail adhesive to make them really last.

Sparkly Nails also offer same day dispatch and free delivery for orders over £20.

What do you all think of textured nail polish? Love it or hate it?

Cheeky Jumbo Plates 2013. What a Disgrace!

Today I have a post many will be surprised by....
Last week i received my Jumbo 2013 plates from Cheeky.
I purchased them on +Amazon.co.uk but was informed on purchase that they would take longer to come. On delivery I found they had been dispatched from China. That's not a problem, I buy a lot of things from overseas with no problems.

When I opened them three of the plates had completely bent corners, and one plates edging was snapped. The one with the snapped edging didn't bother me as much as the plate itself wasn't damaged, but still not the point really as when you buy an item you want it undamaged lol
I was gutted :( I had waited so long for them to arrive....

The first thing i did was take pictures and contact them through Amazon.

No reply.

I waited about a week and then couldn't want any longer and tried to bend one back. That kind of worked but it meant that the full design in the corner would never be flat and will never work.

I then emailed them through their actual website.

Still no reply.

Frustrating!

I am very disappointed, I have ordered with them loads in the past with no problems. This incident has put me right off.

The designs on the plates are also far too big, even for me. So you end up with say half a cupcake.

I don't think i will be ordering with them again. And going by some of the reviews also on amazon neither will a few others.
Not the service we have all come to expect from Cheeky Beauty,

(sorry for bad pics! I took them, well, in a rage!)

Love Nailz Indie Polish. Moody Trio Swatches and Reviews

I have some lovely indies to show you from one of my fave indie makers Love Nailz.

I have reviewed some of Love Nailz polishes before, you can see these posts HERE and HERE

We have three beauties today known as the Moody Trio. This collection consists of Feelin' Blue, Shades of... and Down to Earth.

One thing I noticed when applying was the smell. Its a kind of fruity smell. nothing like normal nail polish. I later mentioned this to Louise at Love Nailz and she said she had added a citrus scent to the batch but never smelt the difference but i certainly did! It made a lovely change to the usual smells!

All these were actually really easy to apply but not easy to photograph! I have tried to capture these the best I can but because the polish tends to change in different lights I couldn't capture the true beauty of the polishes... Sorry :(

First up is Feelin' Blue

This is two coats over CND Stickey Base
Its a beautiful powder blue with micro holo glitter.

Here's a terrible up close shot lol!
you can kind of see the individual glitters.

Next up is Down To Earth
Again 2 coats over CND Stickey

This is more sheer then the Feelin' Blue.
I would describe this as an iced green shade, as it catches the light and has a silvery sheen. This also has micro holo glitter

I had to change the setting of the camera to get the polish to show the most true to life as i could.

In this close up you can see the glitter in all its loveliness

Last, but by no means least, its my fave out of the trio Shades Of....
2 coats over CND Stickey

I litrally have no way of describing this unique polish but i will give it a go..
A reddish but some what iced brown which when it catches the light shows a green hue! As with all the other this has a holo micro glitter as well as the others

I mean just look at that!! the glitter is so beautiful!

All three went on really well. The formula wasn't thick and didn't have too much glitter to effect the application.

These polishes are currently not available to buy... YET
As you may know Louise at Love Nailz also supplies Solvent Resistant Glitters and other supplies. She is currently working on opening a store devoted to selling all her indie beauties.

Please be patient and believe me they are worth the wait.
You can check out Love Nailz on Etsy HERE

Artsy Rose Nail Art

Today 2 of my new stamping plates by Cheeky turned up....
So expect to see lots of stamping from now on!

This is from the Home Sweet Home Jumbo plate 2013.
I purchased them from +Amazon.co.uk. But because they came directly from Asia they took approx 12 working days to arrive.
They have a nice range of patterns on. The full designs are a lot bigger than usual, but this isn't necessarily a good thing. looking at a few designs I am wondering if they will even fit on my nails.

Only time will tell I suppose.

But i really am looking forward to trying the new designs as there are some really funky ones!

Products Used
CND Sticky Base
BarryM Matte White
Essie She's Pampered
Konad Special Polish in Black
Seche Vite

To do this I made circles in Shes Pampered first then indiviually stamped over them after.
I think this does look a bit messy but i actually really like that, this pattern reminds me of Clarice Cliff in some ways.
This also fits in to the new white nail trend! I have seen a lot of people wearin white nail polish recently, i remember the first time I wore white nail polish a few years ago.....
My auntie said it looked like Tip-Ex LOL....

Bright Leopard Print with Studs

Im Back!!!!
Have you missed me?
My laptop was poorly so it had to go to laptop hospital.
All is well again so here i am!

Today we have a very bright summer mani
I used BarryM Gelly in Guava and W7 in Its Pink!
I also used BarryM in Black for the print.
The W7 polish is the brightest colour I own and unfortunately I couldn't get the camera to capture the colour properly :( It is a lovely pink neon.
The studs are from the Born Pretty Store.
