MoYou London Nail Stamping Plate Review and Tutorial

PRODUCT SAMPLE

Hello my loves, I am so sorry I haven't posted in a while. Things are really hectic here in the run up to Christmas.

I have another review of a MoYou London plate for you today. I did another review and video tutorial a few weeks ago which you can view here.

I used two polishes from my recent China Glaze haul to do this although you can barely see the colour difference but I can assure you in real life it was very noticeable.

piCture pOlish Badass Review and Swatches

Hello my dears! How are we all today? In my part of the UK it is very bright and warm today!
Today I have piCture pOlish Badass to show you today. This polish has a unique formula and finish and is so lush!

piCture pOlish Badass Swatch and Review

piCture pOlish Badass Swatch and Review

The formula for this is fantastic. You could literally do one thicker coat and it would cover completely although I used two thin coats and no topcoat for my photos. This polish is smooth without topcoat, the glitter doesn't make the polish bumpy at all!

Look at this glitter!!! In the sun or direct light this polish really comes into its own.  This is not just any black polish!

You can buy this polish and others from piCture pOlish

Random Lines Nail Art

A couple weekends ago we took a little trip away for the weekend. Whilst I was gone I finally got my package from justnail.com.
I had some problems with getting it through customs, and a bloody huge fine, so that sucked but at least I have them now!
I have finally had time to sit and have a play with the Pure Color 10 brush.  You may know this brush as its also available from Stylish Nail Art Shop. It sure is a good brush!

I have been having some health problems in the last 6 months and it means that my hands shake badly so please be kind when it comes to this mani, it is the first time I have attempted hand painting in a while!

I used Moyra Gel Look 910 for this mani, This polish covers so well its unreal. It also stains your whole hand when you take it off. You just cant have it all lol!

I used a metallic white acrylic paint for this but unfortunately you cannot see the lustre of it in these pictures.

Thanks for taking the time to look at these and I hope to be a regular blogger again soon!

Yume Lacquer Pink Lady Swatch and Review

PRESS SAMPLE

Hi my lovelies. I haven't blogged in what feels like forever but it in fact has only been a few days. Things are moving in a tiring slow motion here. An endless round of school runs and naughty boys.

Anyway.... I have Yume Lacquer on the blog again today, you may remember some swatches from a while back, You can see them here, here, here and finally here

Yume Lacquer is a about as geeky as they come, in the polish world that is! And that sure isn't a bad thing! Amanda, the creator of Yume Lacquer, bases her polishes on anime and manga.
Today we have Pink Lady. a salmon pink shade which is bordering on neon. It has micro holographic glitter.
This polish is inspired by Chibi Usa/ Sailor Chibimoon and comes from the Moonlight Defender collection.

I added some brand related art, in a Tips and Topcoat style but obviously not as good! I need to get more brush practice in.

Fantasy Stamping Nail Art

Yay, nail mail day!
I have finally received some, not all, of my stamping plates. I ordered these about 3 weeks ago from Aliexpress.
I don't mind waiting when they are this cheap mind you and the ones I have tried so far stamp perfectly well.

Today I have a nail art featuring plate KD27. I think this might be a cheaper version of a more expensive plate? This plate picked up perfectly fine, I had no problems at all :)

piCture pOlish Aurora

Can I start off by saying that I have in no way done this polish any justice. I took around a bazillion (that's a real number I promise) pictures in so many different lights but I still couldn't capture the pure beauty that is Aurora.

Moyra Estelle 907 Review and Swatch

Today I got some nail mail from Moyra UK and I couldn't wait to get this shade on!
Moyra is a European brand which is now sold in the UK. I have reviewed a few of their polishes before and use them regularly.
They are a budget brand (the most they cost is £4, think BarryM type pricing) but they are by far my favourite budget brand. They are better than BarryM in my opinion as I just love the Moyra brush. Its flatter and wider so, for me, makes application easier.

This is Estelle. Also known as No. 907. A lot of the Moyra polishes don't have names but use numbers instead.

Moyra Estelle Nail Polish swatch and review

Moyra Estelle Nail Polish swatch and review

This is from their Gel Look range. They are highly pigmented but not thick unlike the BarryM Gellys. I find them very easy to apply and the pictures show 2 coats with KBShimmer Clearly On Top topcoat.
It was quite shiny by itself but also slower drying.
No streaks or blotches which I have found to be a problem with other dark reds.

Estelle is a strange shade of red. In direct light it can be quite bright like the pictures but in low or artificial light it turns to quite a muddy deep red. Think old blood...Gross.
Although it bares a resemblance to gore, it still looks very classy and I do really like it.
I have always been a great fan of reds and feel they do suit me.

All in all this shade is fab and there are no complaints from me!
This shade and many others are available from Moyra UK, prices start at £3 (£2 sale running for a very limited time)

Life in Lacquer Nail Art Challenge: BLUE featuring Video Tutorial

Another #lifeinlacquerjuly mani. How are you all liking the challenge so far? I hope your enjoying seeing others work on my Instagram!

Ive been totally overwhelmed by all the people taking part! I thought no one would so I am sooo happy you are all joining me on this!

Today is another very broad prompt...Blue.
I chose to get my Nail Stickrs out for this one. Maybe it would have been more suited to the Geometric prompt but oh well :)

Nail Stickrs geometric blue nail art

Nail Stickrs geometric blue nail art

AND theres a couple videos to accompy this too! Im getting there with the whole video thing. I still find them quite hard and awkward to film but I am getting there.
Again these are fast so I can put them on Instagram. Do you think I should make longer versions for Youtube?

Here is how I did the gradient.....

And here is how I used the Nail Stickrs to create a sponge chevron.

I hope the videos go a little way in showing you how I did this look.
I am really interested to know what you think about them so please do let me know.

For this look I used Essie Butler Please, Avenue Maintain and Sweet Talker. I also used Moyra 304 on the chevron nail.
All of this was one ontop of a white base
And then of course it needed some bling! These beautiful metal star charms are from Effect Beauty. I love them! They are slightly curved so fit to the nail really well unlike other flat charms, plus you get a decent amount for your money.

Soooo what do you think? Please check out the other blog entries from Life in Lacquer July below!

Life in Lacquer Nail Art Challenge: GEOMETRIC

I am bowled away with the amount of people taking part and the positive feedback I have received! I have already found loads of new bloggers and nail artists, how about you?

Today's prompt is one of my fave nail art looks of all times. Geometric.

I actually did another look for this originally but I hated it so I did another. I had so many ideas but when I tried to do them they weren't turning out how I planned... One of those days where nothing went right LOL!

Glam Polish She Had A Lipstick Taser

I love this polish! The base colour, the pink glitters, the crelly effect... EVERYTHING! Look at the way the glitter gives this polish so much depth. The hex glitter is very irregular in shape but I don't think that detracts anything from the polish.

I again used Nail Stickrs for the nail vinyls and Konad white stamping polish to do the designs.
The ring accent finger is Moyra 102 and I hand painted with acrylic paint for the pattern.

What do you think of my take on geometric? See others post from the #lifeinlacquerjuly challenge below and why not share some love and go leave a them comment :)

Moyou Nails Stamping Plate and Polish Review.

A couple day ago I was sent a lovely package from Moyou Nails. I had been waiting for a while and turned out my first one must have gone walkies.
It contained 2 stamping plates, a gold stamping polish, a stamper and scraper.

I haven't tried Moyou Nails before (not to be confused with Moyou London) but I liked the look of the designs I was sent.

Here's my first play....

The gold stamping polish is really good. It has like a glitter effect to it, its not just plain gold. It picked up really well and showed up great against the dark background.
The base is Vant To Bite My Neck by OPI.

The stamper and scraper work fine and pick up well but they are not what I would usually use as I prefer the Magno XL Stamper as it is squishy.

The only gripe I have about these plates is that the designs are not wide enough for me. I don't have wide nails particularly and usually the XL images are FAR too big so I am a tad confused as to why these design are so skinny.
That is why the middle finger design is different.... But that could have been intentional lol!

All in all I love the polish and it didn't smudge when top coated so I would recommend that but the stamps seem to small. They would be great for me personally for feature nails or something as they would never be wide enough for my thumb (and I suck at lining up two stamps lol)

You can buy these stamps, polishes and other bits and bobs from HERE

Cloud Nail Art

recently in my part of the UK it has been very very warm.
I dont like the heat. I'm a breeze and cloud kinda girl. Luckily today it clouded over and again lucky for me it inspired another cloud themed mani!

I am also really into negative space nail arts at the mo. I used a nail vinyl from Nail Stickrs to create the V shape at the base of my nail.
I was going to add some bling but then changed my mind as I didn't want to over do it.

I matted this too using Mentality's Matte topcoat. Not only do I love this topcoat but I find it so much easier to get better pictures as there is no reflection.

I used China Glaze Electric Beat and Essies Butler Please. I first used Electric beat as a base and then when that dried I used a sponge to randomly splodge on Butler Please.
Then I used my ole faithful St Petersburg Brush from Moyra and some acrylic paint for the clouds.

What do you think of this nail art? Would you have added some bling?

Lightening Nail Art using Nail Stickrs

A quick, simple and easy nail art today!

This look is so easy to do all you need is two polishes and some nail vinyl stencils. These ones are from Nail Stickrs.
Nail Stickrs are an American based brand but they ship to the UK for about £1.50 ish so very reasonable! I also happen to know that they have some very exciting new styles coming soon!

I used Moyra 602 and Jasmines Wish (853). Jasmines Wish is a stunning textured polish. A teal with a golden glitter effect.

I have really tried to get this colour as accurate as possible, it was a pain to photograph!
Doesn't it look like a Drusy?!

Its formula is great. Cover fantastically in 2 coats and of course you don't need top coat!

I love pairing textured polishes with ordinary ones!
What do you think of this?

Nail Stickrs are available from Here. Moyra has a brand new website Yay!! You can find it Here.

Lace Floret Water Decal Nail Art

Hello!!
It feels like ages since I blogged last. Super busy getting crochet things made... Ive even bought a label maker. This just got real!

These dainty water decals were sent to me by Sparkly Nails. Sparkly Nails are based in the UK and stock a massive range of nail art items.

Water decals are so simple to use. All you have to do is cut the one you want out, remove plastic and then soak in water for a few seconds. Slide the decal off of the sheet and then on to your nail.... Simples!

The only thing that can make them a tad harder to use is seeing the white decal on the blue backing paper but holding them up to the light helps.

I made the ombre using a make up sponge and Moyra 912 Jacqueline and Manhattan 67N. Manhattan don't name their polishes and it really bugs me when nail polishes don't have names. I think its part of the fun (especially if they are humorous names, I'm talking about you OPI )

These decals and many others are available from Sparkly Nails

Dance Legend Thermal 175

WOW.
I love this thermal. Thermals are polishes that react with heat and change colour. If your nails are long enough you may be able to get a beautiful ombre effect!

Dance Legend 175 is a deep purple that changes to an orangey/pink red when warm. It is quite reactive and the colours are quite different so the change is very noticeable. It doesn't have to get really cold to change to you do get the see the dark purple quite a bit which is great.

The shimmer really makes this polish stand out, it makes it different from a lot of other indie thermals which have big, chunky glitter.

The formula is great. Only 2 coats needed. Pictures show 2 coats with topcoat.

I will admit something embarrassing now... I have a macro lens for my IPhone (Yes I use an IPhone for my pics) I have been using said macro lens wrong. Instead of using the macro I have been using the  wide angle lens... DUH!
Now I have figured it out I can do lovely up close images yay!

I added a little floral accent using a Vamp striper brush and white acrylic paint. I then added some diamantes to add some glitz.

I hope you love this as much as I do. This is my type of thing!

I won this polish in a giveaway run by Nail Stickrs. This came from Rainbow Connection but you can also buy direct.

Moyra Nail Haul

Hey!
Isnt nail mail just the best type of mail ever?! Well it beats bills, I can tell you that!

a couple of weeks ago Moyra UK had a sale. 30% off every polish, so that made each polish only £2.10 each! Deal or what!?

I have used Moyra polishes before (review HERE) and I use their nail art brushes all the time. The polishes are fab quality for the price. They have a wide range of effects and colours. I especially like the Sands and Gel effect.

Here is what I got...

I have also ordered a few others, but they are not released until next weekend.

I have already had a little play with these and I can say I am very happy with the quality for the price.
Even at full price (£3) they work out cheaper than BarryM effect polishes and I can safely say I prefer these. As you all may know I hate BarryM Gelly polishes with a passion, the newer ones anyway. The formula sucks butt. They are streaky yet thick!?
The Moyra Gel Look formula is so much better. The pink one above(919) is a one coater pretty much and not thick at all.

I cannot fault these really.

I will have some nail art using these to show you very soon!

Moyra is available in the UK exclusively from Aliz on FACEBOOK (website coming soon)
All polishes are £3 each and the postage is £3 for up to 25 polishes :)

Picture Polish Pirouette

I won this polish in a giveaway run by Sally Magpies a while ago and have only just got round to trying it! You can read another post about it here

It is described as a Bijou Holo and is a collaboration shade with Tenshi No Hana, a french blogger.

This polish really comes alive in the sun! Oh mama, you can see that scattered holo! Its a dusty pink and the formulations is AAMAZING!
I apologize that the pics are not to my usual standard. We have a poorly little boy.

Please note I found it hard to photograph this. The picture MOST true to the shade is the bottle pic!

I could have worn this as a one coater if I was in a rush and its sooo smooth! Theres NO glitter! Also it was quite shiny without a topcoat. My pictures show it without topcoat (except for the artwork nail).

I didn't think I would like this as its pink and a tad girly but I really love it!

If you are in the UK you can purchase it from Sally Magpies or there are various other stockist available, you can check them HERE
