Ive been shopping, finally! Well online shopping but it still counts.
Nail Polish is a UK online nail polish retailer that stock all the good brands, they now even sell some gels.
There is a code for 20% off all China Glaze polishes so of course I had to make the most of it. These actually came in two deliveries as I bought some then decided I needed more.

Yume Lacquer Pink Lady Swatch and Review
PRESS SAMPLE
Anyway.... I have Yume Lacquer on the blog again today, you may remember some swatches from a while back, You can see them here, here, here and finally here.
Yume Lacquer is a about as geeky as they come, in the polish world that is! And that sure isn't a bad thing! Amanda, the creator of Yume Lacquer, bases her polishes on anime and manga.
Today we have Pink Lady. a salmon pink shade which is bordering on neon. It has micro holographic glitter.
This polish is inspired by Chibi Usa/ Sailor Chibimoon and comes from the Moonlight Defender collection.
I added some brand related art, in a Tips and Topcoat style but obviously not as good! I need to get more brush practice in.

Moyra Nail Haul
Hey!
Isnt nail mail just the best type of mail ever?! Well it beats bills, I can tell you that!
a couple of weeks ago Moyra UK had a sale. 30% off every polish, so that made each polish only £2.10 each! Deal or what!?
I have used Moyra polishes before (review HERE) and I use their nail art brushes all the time. The polishes are fab quality for the price. They have a wide range of effects and colours. I especially like the Sands and Gel effect.
Here is what I got...

I have also ordered a few others, but they are not released until next weekend.
I have already had a little play with these and I can say I am very happy with the quality for the price.
Even at full price (£3) they work out cheaper than BarryM effect polishes and I can safely say I prefer these. As you all may know I hate BarryM Gelly polishes with a passion, the newer ones anyway. The formula sucks butt. They are streaky yet thick!?
The Moyra Gel Look formula is so much better. The pink one above(919) is a one coater pretty much and not thick at all.
I cannot fault these really.
I will have some nail art using these to show you very soon!
Moyra is available in the UK exclusively from Aliz on FACEBOOK (website coming soon)
All polishes are £3 each and the postage is £3 for up to 25 polishes :)

Mega Mix Nails Review Part 2
You may remember a couple of days ago I tried a new product called Mega Mix.
Mega Mix is a product that turns your nail polish or mica/glitter pigments into gel polish.
My first testing wasn't a complete success, you can read it HERE
So I thought it best to try out a more pigmented polish and see how that faired.
I figured that my most pigmented polish might be a Gelly by BarryM so I used Pomegranate.

So I thought it best to try out a more pigmented polish and see how that faired.
I figured that my most pigmented polish might be a Gelly by BarryM so I used Pomegranate.
As per my previous post I applied BarryM Pomegranate on the index finger and a mixture of Mega Mix and nail polish on the remaining three nails.
2 coats on the index and 4 on the rest.
This mixture fared considerably better than my previous one of Essie and MegaMix.
Its not perfect though. You can still see my smile line and it has a jelly like appearance.
But how can we expect it to be opaque when its effectively "watered" down by mixing in the clear gel?
Would it not be better if the gel was tinted white?
Another point worth making is that this is time consuming and I ran out of mixture half way through so I do wonder if by mixing up a new batch half way through would the colour or coverage be the same??
What are your thoughts on this?
Do you prefer gel to polish?
Do you prefer gel to polish?
Moyra Polish Review
Today I have a review of a brand called Moyra. They are new to the UK and stock a MASSIVE range of polish, nail tech items and nail art.
I was sent three polishes to review and I have two to show you today, shade no 87 and no 304.
I decided to do this as a piece of nail art. When I saw the Metal Effect shade 304 I instantly thought STAMPING!
So this is shade 87 on its own....
Oh how I love purple and this polish is no exception!
The brush is a brilliant shape, not thin like Revlon but not as wide as Essie. You all know how I LOVE a good brush!
I also like the longer handle on these bottles too. BUT I have to say I am not crazy about the way the bottles look.
The formula was great too, two coats in these pics.
**The "rim" look on the ring finger is caused by my topcoat, not the polish**
Then I added some stamping using no 304.....
LOOK AT IT! Oh my!
This stamps even better than my actual silver stamping polish! I am so happy with how this looks!
If you are looking for a silver stamping polish I would recommend this for sure.
Moyra polishes (so far) get a massive tick in my book! AND would you believe they are a budget polish?
These are selling for £3 each at the mo.
They are available to buy from FACEBOOK and a website is on the horizon.
Have you tried Moyra yet?
These polishes were sent to me for my honest review.. Please see my disclosure for more details

Yume Lacquer Let's Positive Thinking Swatch and Review
FINALLY I have finished all my crochet orders so I am now on full speed ahead catching up on the old blogging!!
Today I have, what I can only describe as, a grown up polish! This polish makes me feel so grown up and elegant.
Plus I love the way it looks on my nails.
I think it really suits me :)
Without further ado this is Let's Positive Thinking by Yume lacquer.
Bottle shot ^^
Its a chestnutty yummy warm brown with a purply pink micro glitter. Look at how grown up and elegant it makes me lol!
The formula is great, two coats shown here with topcoat.
The glitter isnt grainy or anything so thats great too.
I love this. REALLY love it! If I had to go and be taken seriously somewhere this would be the polish I would wear.
What do you all think??

Yume Lacquer On My Honour
Oh man.... SPARKLES!!!
This polish has been killing me! It has been so hard to capture the true beauty of this polish.
Sooo I have used many different lights to try and get the right images. Please ignore hand colourings, I assure you that the polish is as correct as I can get it.
On My Honour is a gold/rose duochrome coloured polish that is basically made up of micro glitter. Amanda from Yume Lacquer also says it can be layered over black and it looks more purple. I am going to have to give that a go for sure.
This polish is inspired by Catelyn Stark from the television series and book, Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire.
I used 3 coats for these pics and one coat of Seche Vite. It only needs one coat for smoothness! WIN!
Okay so like I said ignore silly weird coloured fingers but LOOK AT THAT POLISH!!!
Its like it GLOWS.....
The glitter pigments aren't as noticeable when you look at it normally its only because we are real up close!
So what do you all think? I <3 this!!
Yume Lacquer is available from HERE and Amanda does ship to the UK :)

Yume Lacquer Mystic and Courageous Thunder
Hello all!!
Its been a long week already and its only Tuesday! ARG!
My son has caught the flu thing I had so now hes super sick :(
and I am snowed under with crochet, man I sound like an old biddie.... ON WITH THE POLISH!
I have two green based polishes from Yume Lacquer today for ya. Yume Lacquer has of course been on the blog before HERE.
First up is Mystic inspired by Final Fantasy 4, this beaut features gold glitter and gold stars.
This is super sparkly in real life and not really as bright as it come across in these photos. Its more muted. More of a moss green.
I had a few problems with the application of this polish. Its just too thick for me and because of this its hard to get a nice clean look.
The stars of course also pose a problem and I do find this with most big glitter polishes. They are hard to get an even distribution (ring finger has like one and middle finger has like a million) and of course they dont lie flat. This doesn't really bother me to much but I know some people really hate that and will pick at anything that sticks up.
BUT saying all that its still a lovely polish.
Pictured with two coats with two coats of top coat.
And last up (tonight that is,I still have 2 more for ya very soon) is Courageous Thunder inspired by Sailor Jupiter from Sailor Moon
I am really sorry but the name of this polish makes me think of some sort of mega wind passing episode! Im such a bloke sometimes!
This is a lush green with a purple micro glitter pigment. I love this!
See^^ PURPLE!
I found it so hard to capture the purple shimmer on my camera. But let me assure you it can be seen in real life.
I really like this shade of green and I really think it suits me! The polish comes across as metallic but it isn't in real life at all, man this was a hard polish to photograph!!
This was again two coats but only needed one coat of topcoat. It was not gritty at all.
So theres you have it folks! Which one is your favourite so far?
To see these and other nail polishes from Yume Lacquer please pop on over to ETSY!
These polishes were sent to me for my honest review.

Life in Lacquer is One!!
Can you believe it?
Life in Lacquer is one years old!!!
I cant believe its actually been a year, in fact I forgot!
The "blogiversary" was actually yesterday..... DOH!
It has been an eventful year and I have made some lovely friends in the "nail world"
If I didn't start this blog I would have never have met you lovely people so for that I am thankful <3
It crept up on me so quickly, I wanted to run a giveaway and such but that will have to wait.....
To mark my one year anniversary I have done some lovely cake nail art! You may remember I did do some cupcake nail art right back in the beginning (post HERE) so I thought I would give it another go. I hope I have improved!
For this mani I used a Sick Lacquers nail polish. This one is called Cotton Candied and its such a beautiful polish. Sick Lacquers were my first international indie brand and to this day they are still my fave.
White crellys are where its at for me!
The pictures show two coats with Seche Vite.
Its such a happy polish and I think it works so well in this design.
I also used Robyn by Zoya, another of my fave polishes. Such a pretty colour!
I used Color Club stripers to do the cupcake and two OPI's for the case.
Color Club stripers are the bees knees!
So what do you think? Do you see an improvement compared to my old cupcake mani?

Polish Me Silly Grape Intentions Thermal Polish
Hello my dears!
I have had a nice relaxing week spending some time with my family as my husband is not at work!
I have a bloody fantastic polish for you today! ITS A THERMAL!!!
I have previously tried thermals before but the colour change was underwhelming to say the least. This polish you can for sure see the change!
My family loved this polish, they thought it was like witchcraft or something. None of them have ever even heard of thermals before.
Noobs.
This is Grape Intentions by Polish Me Silly.

BOTTLE CLOSE UP

WARM
Its purple when cold and pink when warm. Because I have longish nails I often see a gradient which looks so good. Its also packed with glitter but I found the larger hexes a bit of a pain so had to manually move some of them.
I used three thin coats to get the finish in the pictures, it is a jelly polish. What would happen if you layered it over a different base colour?!!??
I really love this. I'm hooked on thermals and I do have another to show you soon!
What do you think?

Polish Me Silly Stardust
I'M BACK BABY!
Its valentines Day!
This is also my 200th POST!!
Today I have one of the most GORGEOUS polishes on my nails I think I have ever laid eyes on.
Stardust is a multichrome glitter topper. It flashes with greens, pinks, blues and purple hues. It also has silver glitter!!
The best way to describe this polish is it is like a galaxy on your nails.
(sorry for funny colours and blurring but it was the only way i could show the green. The green is very prominent it real life)
Please excuse the variants in my finger colour. I captured this with both artificial light and very limited daylight to try and show the different colours. I still don't think I did it justice!
I layered it over Sinful Colors Black on Black, but the layering possibilities are endless. I cant wait to try this over red or pink!
On a side note what do you think of the new photos? I still have a way to go but I really like these pics!!

Jade Holo with Stars
A polish that shares my name?!
Get in my collection you sexy beast!!
Okay so pink isn't usually my thing and I am still unsure as to whether I would wear it on a regular basis but it is gorgeous!
This is Jade Delirio Rosa. Two coats with topcoat.
I used a Cheeky stamping plate for the design. I didn't want to leave it plain but also didn't want to go mental.
Also trying out new photo techniques *again* what do you think??
So my lovelies, do you love a linear holo?

Zoya PixieDust
After the Halloween mess up Ive gone for something decidedly better!
After trying Zoya for the first time a while back, I just had to give PixieDust a try!
And wowzers! I think it is now my all time fave!
Its so glittery and applies sooo well. The only thing about it that I am not a fan of is drying time.
I usually use a fast drying topcoat but if you do that you would loose the textured effect.
This is Liberty, 2 coats. The accompanying polish is Robyn also by Zoya.
I also love the Zoya bottle shape.
I don't know why really but it is my fave shape of all my bottles.
The texture of this polish is not the most bumpy I have tried so if you are new to textured polish this would be a fantastic one to start with.
This sparkles like a dream. I cant stop looking at it!!
I want this is every shade around, but I have decided to go on a no buy for a bit. Christmas is coming and all!
What do you think about textured polish? Have you tried PixieDust?
