Autumn Leaves Nail Art

I am a big fan of Autumn. I love the colours, the weather and of course the darker nights.
I was really struggling for ideas the other day and one of my beautiful readers planted a seed of inspiration in my head, thanks Helen Benton!

Today we have a mani using some autumn colours and some hand painted vines.

Life in Lacquer Nail Art Challenge:DOTS featuring Video Tutorial!

How are you enjoying the challenge so far? Please do share the challenge around so others can take part!

Today is dots. I liked this prompt as its very open and also lends itself to beginners.

I chose to do something simple AND I made a video to go with it! YAY!

Here is what I came up with.

I used Manhattan Laque Lotus and Sugar Fix by Sally Hansen (textured)
The bow was from Poundland!

I love the textured polish over the smooth. I think its a great way to jazz up a simple mani.
Want to see how I did it??!! NOW YOU CAN!

It is a fast video as I planned to put them on instagram.

What do you think? Do you like to see how it was done?

Tune in soon to see the next installment in Life in Lacquer July!

Lace Floret Water Decal Nail Art

Hello!!
It feels like ages since I blogged last. Super busy getting crochet things made... Ive even bought a label maker. This just got real!

These dainty water decals were sent to me by Sparkly Nails. Sparkly Nails are based in the UK and stock a massive range of nail art items.

Water decals are so simple to use. All you have to do is cut the one you want out, remove plastic and then soak in water for a few seconds. Slide the decal off of the sheet and then on to your nail.... Simples!

The only thing that can make them a tad harder to use is seeing the white decal on the blue backing paper but holding them up to the light helps.

I made the ombre using a make up sponge and Moyra 912 Jacqueline and Manhattan 67N. Manhattan don't name their polishes and it really bugs me when nail polishes don't have names. I think its part of the fun (especially if they are humorous names, I'm talking about you OPI )

These decals and many others are available from Sparkly Nails

Summer Citrus

This is my first time using Fimo Canes. I got these sent to me from Nail Delights. They came s a cane not pre-sliced so I had to cut them. I used a Stanley knife, and man was that hard! I think with practice they will become thinner and even shaped.

The design was really let down by the nail polish I used. I had to redo a few nails and it didn't really come out as I had hoped.

I used Manhattan shade 3 for the peach colour and InVogue Hi Res Glitter in Feeling Fruity for the glitter.

The Manhattan polish is a nightmare to apply! I used FOUR coats and it was still streaky!

I also used gold studs from the Born Pretty Store.

I loved working with the Fimo Cane and I have another one from Nail Delights that I am itching to try.
You can buy the Fimo Canes from Nail Delights  HERE
Nail delights also have a awesome range of nail art supplies and my current favourite thing....water decals!
You can buy the InVogue Hi Res Glitter from Oh Beauty HERE

I really feel like I could have done this design better but as I am sure you know we all have days where nothing seems to go right!
:( :( :(
*some of these products were sent to me for an HONEST review. The views on this product are COMPLETELY my own.*

Manhattan Polish South African Inspired

As i mentioned in my previous post, I have recently purchased a few new polishes from +Fragrance Direct. Two of these polishes were Manhattan Rock Topia Polishes priced at a bargain 49p! i can not resist a bargain like that!

I also used Silver special effect foil polish from Barry M and some gold striping tape to complete the design.
I must say i am very impressed with these polishes and they give a nice opaque colour in only two coats but unfortunatly +Fragrance Direct only have 2 colours in stock. These!

Number 5 and Number 4

Number 4 is actually much more of an apple green when used on the nail and is used in the feauter nail.

I think these as well worth 49p!
I hope you all have a great Bank holiday weekend!
