Can you believe Christmas is over? Its been a whole month since I blogged last but it seems like forever ago.

I was sent these nails strips a while ago from OMG Nail Strips. I do apologise for taking an age to get them up but life sometimes gets in the way, especially over the festive period!

OPI Quickie Stamping Nail Art

Just a quick one for you all today, its my birthday in a couple of days and my family are keeping me busy with lots of good times so I have barely had time to sit still!

Today I am wearing OPI My Address is Hollywood with stamping from plate MZR11. I used Konad white special polish for the stamping.

I used three coats of My Address is Hollywood and one coat of top coat. Formula is a bit thin but built well with the third coat. It has this beautiful shimmer to it which gives it a nice classy finish. Whenever I see this polish in the bottle I always bypass it to choose something else as this reminds me of quite an old fashioned colour but to be honest I love the way it looks on me. I think it complements my skin tone so well and makes me feel so grown up and classy! 

I thought the scripture went well with my perception of this polish.

ILNP Haul, Ultrachrome Goodness!

I have finally bought some ILNP!
I don't own any ILNP and they had a sale recently to make room for their new bottles so I thought I had better take advantage of that!
I got 7 polishes, 5 from the ultrachrome range and 2 holographics.

MoYou London Nail Stamping Plate Review and Tutorial

Hello my loves, I am so sorry I haven't posted in a while. Things are really hectic here in the run up to Christmas.

I have another review of a MoYou London plate for you today. I did another review and video tutorial a few weeks ago which you can view here.

I used two polishes from my recent China Glaze haul to do this although you can barely see the colour difference but I can assure you in real life it was very noticeable.

Nail Polish Direct Haul, China Glaze at 20% Off... WINNING!

Ive been shopping, finally! Well online shopping but it still counts.
Nail Polish is a UK online nail polish retailer that stock all the good brands, they now even sell some gels.
There is a code for 20% off all China Glaze polishes so of course I had to make the most of it. These actually came in two deliveries as I bought some then decided I needed more.

Marcus Manis- Abstract Dark Wing Nail Art

Marcus did this nail art so long ago but I completely forgot to post it up, sorry! So don't go thinking I got my claws back because i haven't *sob*

We didn't really know what to call this. It started as a sort of butterfly wing type pattern but I am not really sure now LOL!
But whatever it is I love it!

He used OPI Russian Navy as the base colour than added the design using acrylic paint including some yummy metallic silver paint.

What do you think of this design and what would you call it?

Gross Halloween Pustule Nails!

Hahah yes you read that right! Today I saw THESE nails by The Daily Nail and had to give it a go!

I don't know if these are more wart type nails or pustule nails but they reek of Halloween!

Yume Lacquer Rainbow Heart Review, Swatches and Nail Art!

Today I have my last Yume Lacquer to show you. I have saved my favourite polish until last.

Rainbow Heart is described as "A medium rosy pink with a slight golden shimmer and holographic microglitter" on Yumelacquer.com and I couldn't have  described it better myself, LOL. It is part of the Moon Defender Collection and is inspired by Sailor Moon. 

This polish isn't unlike Pink Lady, you can see my review HERE, but I would say the main difference is that Pink Lady is verging on neon but this is much more of a rosy muted pink shade. I absolutely adore it!

Halloween Spider Nail Art

Finally had time to heave a play with a Halloween design!
There is some bad news unfortunately, well bad for the claw lovers, the claws are gone *sobs*  I broke the index one and there was no chance of a repair. I am back to nubbs now but that may please some of the claw haterz lol!

I am not hating the short nails as much as I thought I would. Its nice to have a change!

Halloween Pumpkin Nail Art

Another Halloween type nail art today although this could also just be an Autumn themed one as its not particularly scary!

I used KBShimmer Dancing Green and Moyra 621 to do this mani. 

I think I also need to be honest with you all. I don't even know who bothers to read this or anything and sorry for the rant in advance.... 

I am really getting upset about my hand shakes and I hate the way my art turns out pretty much every time. I try so hard and I have an image in my head an then I cant even hold a paintbrush without my hand going stupidly shaky. I look at everyone else beautiful manis and even consider jacking everything in. I hate the way my photos look and GRRRR. A bad time indeed. *sobs*

Star Water Decals from Sparkly Nails

Hello!
Today I have some water decals from Sparkly Nails to show you, Water decals are so easy to use and I would recommend them to people who are not comfortable in hand painting or looking for something that is quick and easy to do but yields great results.

I chose to use some Essie polishes and gradient them, I then added some glitter to the middle to fingers!

Water Marble Nail Art Decals

I feel so proud of myself right now! After 5 hours of practise I finally got water marbling to work for me!

I sat at my table last night and and just messed around with the polishes I had, I also got some great advice from Tracey from Bite No More. I found that my Essie polishes worked best and that's what I used to create this look.
The main thing that has put me off marbling in the past is the mess. It looked so much hassle and so much clean up. Then I saw @yagala on instagram making a water marble decal and I knew I had to try it! @Yagala also has a YouTube channel which you can see HERE

piCture pOlish Aurora

Can I start off by saying that I have in no way done this polish any justice. I took around a bazillion (that's a real number I promise) pictures in so many different lights but I still couldn't capture the pure beauty that is Aurora.

Moyra Beatrice with rose nail art

Meet Beatrice, another gel look polish by Moyra. As you may already know I really like Moyra polishes. They have a wider brush, fantastic formula and they are a bargain!

As I said this is a gel look polish so is supposed to be more shiny. Usually I topcoat all my mani's but today I haven't so you can see that it is in fact a little more shiny. Only a little mind you!

Its that time of the week where we see what nail arr Marcus has been doing. If your new to the blog then ill just take a minute to fill you in. Marcus is my father in law. He is an artist and hew also enjoys painting and having his nails painted. When he comes to visit we sit ans brain storm about designs, Marcus usually goes for something inspired by another artist.

Life in Lacquer Challenge:INSPIRED BY ANOTHER NAIL ARTIST OR BLOGGER

Ill start of by apologising. I am really late on this prompt but I do have a good excuse I swear!!

As you can see we have had a big change here at Life in Lacquer.... We are now a dot com! This is a big step for me and its really made me feel quite accomplished!
I also have a fantastic new layout courtesy of Shiny Magic. They are so reasonably priced and was really easy to install.

Okay so back to the last prompt of the Life in Lacquer July Challenge. I chose one of my fave bloggers Let Them Have Polish.
She did a fantastic look called Rainbow Ombre and she also made a tutorial. All of which can be found on her original post.

Here's my take...

I used the exact method she did my following her YouTube tutorial. 

The colours I chose are bright so to me it looks a bit like a galaxy nail art! 

The shades I used were

China Glaze Electric Beat 

OPI Pink Friday 

Manhattan 67N

Essie Mojito Madness

CND Vinylux Cream Puff (base) 

I used Sick Lacquers Pastel Fusion over the top to give it some glitz. This bottle is not pictured in the bottle shot (I forgot, sorry!)

I then matted it all using Mentality Matte Top Coat. I love this topcoat and the effect it gives. 

The clean up wasn't great as I got it everywhere, but I am still happy with the look. I also found Let Them Have Polishes video really easy to follow. 

So what do you think of this nail art?
