MoYou London Nail Stamping Plate Review and Tutorial

PRODUCT SAMPLE

Hello my loves, I am so sorry I haven't posted in a while. Things are really hectic here in the run up to Christmas.

I have another review of a MoYou London plate for you today. I did another review and video tutorial a few weeks ago which you can view here.

I used two polishes from my recent China Glaze haul to do this although you can barely see the colour difference but I can assure you in real life it was very noticeable.

Bright Watercolour Effect Nail art

Hello my lovelies!
Been another stressful week, will I ever get used to the school routine?!

I have no idea what to call this nail art. Its bright and reminds me of slushed watercolour with perhaps an Indian sari type theme? I have no idea!
Well anyway here it is....

O.P.I Gradient and Stamping Nail Art

I recently bought some new O.P.I and thought I would do a little nail at with them!

I haven't bought any newer O.P.I's in a while but when I saw these lovely shades I just had to! I am in love in corals and pinky shades at the mo, which is strange as I used to hate orange or pink shades with a passion. I think I may have turned into a girl.

For this subtle gradient I used Sorry I am Fizzy Today and Live Love Carnival. Sorry I Am Fizzy Today doesn't have a great formula unfortunately. Its streaky and hard to apply and took three coats and I still wasn't happy, but I am willing to forgive as I LOVE this shade. It is unlike any other pinks I have.

They may look quite similar shades in my photos but as you can see in the bottle shot they really are different.
I then added some stamping using a MoYou stamping plate. Its an abstract design that reminds me of something you would see on an fabric from the 1980/1990's.

What do you think of this nail art? Have you tried any of these O.P.I shades?

Moyou Nails Stamping Plate and Polish Review.

A couple day ago I was sent a lovely package from Moyou Nails. I had been waiting for a while and turned out my first one must have gone walkies.
It contained 2 stamping plates, a gold stamping polish, a stamper and scraper.

I haven't tried Moyou Nails before (not to be confused with Moyou London) but I liked the look of the designs I was sent.

Here's my first play....

The gold stamping polish is really good. It has like a glitter effect to it, its not just plain gold. It picked up really well and showed up great against the dark background.
The base is Vant To Bite My Neck by OPI.

The stamper and scraper work fine and pick up well but they are not what I would usually use as I prefer the Magno XL Stamper as it is squishy.

The only gripe I have about these plates is that the designs are not wide enough for me. I don't have wide nails particularly and usually the XL images are FAR too big so I am a tad confused as to why these design are so skinny.
That is why the middle finger design is different.... But that could have been intentional lol!

All in all I love the polish and it didn't smudge when top coated so I would recommend that but the stamps seem to small. They would be great for me personally for feature nails or something as they would never be wide enough for my thumb (and I suck at lining up two stamps lol)

You can buy these stamps, polishes and other bits and bobs from HERE

Press sample. Some of these products have been sent to me for my honest opinions.

Aboriginal Stamping Nail Art

I havent done stamping decals in a long time but today I fancied doing it. I also wanted to use a colour I dont use a lot, brown.

I actually like brown and I think this particular brown suits me :) This is You Don't Know Jacques by +OPI Products. Its what I would called an iced brown as it doesn't have a strong red undertone.

The stamping plate I used was from +MoYou London and has some funky australian themed designs. I used acrylic to fill it in and as you can see it didn't go quite to plan and ever some as the stamping cracked (on the lizards body) but I still like it. It also doesn't look so bad in real life! Damn you macro!

Of course I matted it all afterwards and I think that adds the the effect! I use Mentality matte top coat and that works so much better than others I have tried.
What do you think?

Love Skittle Nail Art

This mani is super cute, even if I do say so myself :)

This is a skittle mani a la Nailasaurus, as you all know I love +The Nailasaurus.
She is a real inspiration to me :)

I got sent these really lush Love charms from Effect Beauty. The feature a little diamante and I really love them. I did bent them a little to get them to sit flatter but I think it would probably sit better if I had bigger or longer nails.

Doing different nail arts on different nails is quite fun as you get to try out different designs and see what you like :)

I used BarryM Rose Hip for the base, I really dislike the formula of this polish.
 Intensely.
I also used Zoya Areej and Barry M Dragon Fruit.

What so you all think?

The Love charms are available to buy from Effect Beauty and used LACQUER at the checkout for 10% off.

some of these products were sent to me for my honest review. please see my disclaimer for details.

OH Does My Nails! Finally!

I have finally gotten around to actually letting my other half do my nails!

He has been waiting patiently whilst I let everyone else have a go and now it is his turn.
He favorite colour is yellow so its no suprise that he chose a yellow indie polish as his main colour.

Alex chose Banana Stand by Happy Hands. I love Happy Hands. They don't make polishes any more and its gutting as I REALLY NEED the Simpsons collection they released but I cant get it anywhere....
On a side note if anyone knows where I can get them or are willing to sell me some then please drop me a line!

 Bottle shot ^^

He also used Foie Gras by China Glaze and then stamped a little submarine using The Beatles stamping plate by MoYou.
We all live in a yellow submarine.....

The yellow really goes with the brown and I think he did a great job for his first ever stamping! Bless him!

My OH Does My Nails Tag.... Well My Brother Does My Nails

Ok so on the British Nail Bloggers facebook page this week a few of us are letting our other halfs loose on our nails!

Both my brother and husband wanted to give this a go so first up is my brother Aaron. They both have got quite excited over this. I am hoping they realise its not as easy as they think!

I actually think Aaron did a good job!
Not too messy and some cool stamping.

He seemed to get quite into it!
I better watch my back!

He even tried to do clean up bless him!
He used 2 different Moyou Stamping Plates and a Jade polish called Fascinio Violetta.

What do you think??

Please check out the other bloggers and what their OH have been up too!

New Years Nails! Only 11 Days Late!!

I apologise!

my laptop died AGAIN! so was off being repaired.
I do often wonder if people notice I have gone lol I'm sure some of you do :D

So here are the nails I wore on New Years Eve.

I wore these for a very uneventful night in!
As you know I have 2 young boys so I don't get out much at all now a days.

This is Storm by Zoya.
It is superbly superb!
It has holo glitter scattered in a black base.
2 coats in the ^above^ pic

I used a Moyou plate from the Festive collection for the gold streamers. I wanted to use the designs with "Happy New Year" and a clock on but they are just so bloody huge. I couldn't get them to fit on my nails at all. Its annoying when you buy a plate and can only use like 1 design :(

I'm not quite sure what possessed me to put a blue bow on this Hahahah. I don't like it at all now I'm looking back at it.

I hope you had a fab new years and 2014 is treating you well so far!

My Final Christmas Nail Art!

Here is my final Christmas nail art for 2013!

I am hoping to wear this for Christmas day so I really bloody hope they don't chip.

Here are the last cheesy Christmas tree photos... Enjoy!

I couldn't do a mani without the use of some texture could I?! Here's Zoya PixieDust in Chyna. I also used OPI Affair in Red Square. This is such and Christmas colour, it has this lush shimmer type metallic sheen.

As you can see the stamping smudged a tad but when you look at it in real life you cant see it at all and I mean AT ALL. Its kind of annoying!

The stamping plates are all from the festive collection by MoYou London.
I used the decal method for the Hollie. You can find a tutorial HERE

Did you know I have written 180 posts this year? My first year of blogging!

MERRY CHRISTMAS YOU LOVELY PEOPLE!

Festive False Nails

Okay I have again been crap at blogging.

BUT.... I have been working on something behind the scenes.

My friend has been bugging me to make false nails for a while now and i have finally done it!
By the way this is the same friend that convinced me to start this blog. I should really listen to her more!

I have started them off on eBay with a start of just 99p! I had no idea how to price them so Ill just see how they go.

Here they are!!

These have a slight defect ( bloody topcoat)
I used OPI Affair in Red Square and Color Club's Sugar Plum Fairy ( i think)

 Diamante fade nails.
Diamantes over OPI's Every Month Is Oktoberfest

Blue snow flake nails with dots of Holographic glitter using Zoya's Robyn

Feature nails are done using Zoya PixieDust in Liberty.

So what do you think?
Would you wear these?

If you are interested in buying them you can find them HERE but UK only please!

Born To Be Wild!! Tattoo Inspired Nail Stamping

I am sorry Ive been quiet for a while.

Theres some things going on in my private life that have been taking up a lot of my brain space.
I hope to be back in the swing of things soon.

I have done a very quick mani today using plates from the Biker Collection by MoYou. The plates went missing in the post so MoYou resent not only the 4 I had ordered but the whole collection!!

I used OPI Tickle My France-y.
Three coats for the pics above.
I freaking love this shade and as you may well know I love a good nude (Behave!)
I just wish this one was thicker so it didn't need so many coats.
I love the way this polish makes my hands look, but I don't like all the coats :(

What do you think of this mani?
Whats your fave polish colour?

Firework Nail Art

Ive not been around much lately.
I hope your all not missing me too much!!

My nails have taken a battering... I have on broken my middle finger and the poor finger has developed some very sore skin :(

But I have soldiered on and finally done some firework nail art!

These are stamped using the Festive Plate 5 by MoYou London.
The base is Williamsburg by Color Club.
A lovely deep glitter blue and perfect coverage in two coats.

I also used a pastel yellow, blue and white special stamping polish by Konad.

How was your Bonfire Night?
Did you get to see any fireworks?

Freddie Mercury Mani

I love Queen and when I saw this plate by MoYou I had to buy it. Then it turned out to be limited edition so I was even happier that I had snapped it up!

I used the below image as inspiration for this mani.

I chose to do the stripes from the trousers and the buckle bits from the jacket.

I used the decal method (tutorial HERE
As you can see I have fudged it up a tad but in my defence that was the top coat not me :P
I spent a good while doing this mani so was a bit pissed that it messed up :(
I freaking love this.
You cant really see the mess ups from the normal viewing distance.
I think I will do something like this again the the future just to see how awesome it looks with no mistakes lol!

Products Used
OPI Alpine Snow
OPI Red Lights Ahead, Where?
BarryM Gold Foil Effect
BarryM Lemon Ice Cream
Konad Black
Acrylic Paint

What do you think?
Are you a fan of Queen or Freddie?

Owl Stamping Nail Art

Something very strange must have happened as I have incredibly girly nails today!

They have also had the chop! I have very curvy nails so after a certain length they look all silly!

For this I used OPI's Pink Friday as a base. My god was this streaky, I had an absolute nightmare getting this on.
This is three coats.
Dont get me wrong I love this colour but it infuriated me :(

The Owl is from a MoYou London stamping plate, filled in with OPI's Suzis Hungry Again and Fly.
The black is Konad Special Polish.

Over all I do like this but maybe next time I would choose different colours.
What do you think?

Nail Stamping,The Basics

I have ordered some more stamping plates by Cheeky from the amazon site and waiting for them to arrive. Keep your eyes peeled (gross!) for some new nails soon....
I love using stamping plates because with just a little practise you can get amazing results. They can me abit hard to get used to as you have to be super quick once you've picked up the polish on the stamp.

For anyone who is reading this who doesn't know how to use stamping plates ill give a brief explanation...
First choose your design, i actually find this the hardest part!!
Place some nail polish or special polish on to the plate over the design and use the scraper to scrape over in one direction only. This will remove excess polish as only a tiny bit is needed.
then roll the stamper over the design to pick it up
very quickly roll the design on the nail.

It will take a few goes to get it right but it can really enhance your nails. I use stamping ALL the time.
The most well known brand is probably Konad. I use Cheeky and Bundle Monster plates that i buy from +Amazon.co.uk . They are considerably cheaper and i have never had any problems with them really. Some designs don't pick up as well but that may well be down to a number of other factors such as the polish used.
There is also other brands such as Mash and MoYou. I have not tried these.

You can use many polishes fro stamping but the general view is that if they are opaque in one coat then they may work. I have found that the Barry M Foil Effect Colours work AMAZINGLY and i use these regularly.
I also use old polishes that have gone abit thick. They tend to work quite well.
*TIP* Slightly buff the pad of the stamper with a nail file to help it pick up the polish.

You can even use multiple Designs together if your feeling extra creative :)

Here's some examples of Stamping i did last year.....

These two are done over IBD Just Gel, The pink one has a mica pigment scrubbed in to it.

This is a Zebra print over a China Glaze grey.

Id love to hear about any other polishes or Tips anyone has :D
